The Douglasism Festival in Seoul (2013) offered a coherent picture of the contribution and presence of the artist and writer, Douglas Park. Kim Kim Gallery considers “Douglasism” to be a multi-layered approach to the quasi-totality of the Douglas Park’s creative and somewhat eccentric output, encompassing a vast array of sources in the Festival context. For their part, Kim Kim Gallery provided insight into Park’s modus-operandi, attitude and thought-patterns, including works by a myriad of artists with whom Douglas Park had previously worked, as a phenomenon of art-catalysis up to the present. But who is Douglas Park? In his own words Douglas Park was born in 1972, and is a “UK visual artist, writer (of literary prose and critical essays, both mostly art connected) and exhibition curator, with multiple practices and roles combined”. Douglas Park’s biobibliography currently fills 38+ pages.
