Suji Park is an Auckland-based artist whose domestic-scale clay figures combine ceramics with the techniques of watercolour and illustration.
The works have a totemic quality; they cultivate an aura of displacement reminiscent of the ethnographic space of the museum, and imply the shamanistic realm which such institutions attempt to capture and contain.
Mollusca is Suji Park’s second exhibition at Brett McDowell Gallery.
