Kim Soungui, while working in just an outskirt of Paris since 1971, has created numerous drawings and sketches in the 1970s and 1980s. Kim poured out stories she encountered amalgamated with her in-depth study in Eastern philosophy onto the papers. From these sketches, one can comprehend the intimate flow of thoughts by the artist. “Temps de Bonjour-77” is a work created with one stroke of lines, in which the artist describes a practice to reach a state of ‘zero’, in another word, ‘chaos’. She believed through chaos, one could be open to infinite possibility and openness.
