Kim Beom's artist books republished 김범 아티스트북 3종 재출간

김범의 『고향』은 1998년 서울시립미술관에서 열린 전시 «도시와 영상: 의식주» 를 위해 처음 출간되었습니다. 당시 전시장에는 이 책에 대한 A4 크기 광고지와 주문 카드만 전시되었고, 주문 카드를 작성하고 금액을 지불한 관객에게 작가가 직접 『고향』 책 한 권을 우편으로 발송했습니다. 이후 «문 뒤의 비밀»(2005, 51회 베니스비엔날레 한국관), 뉴욕에서 열린 «Happy Together»(2015, Tina Kim Gallery) 등의 전시에 동일한 내용의 영문으로 전시된 바 있습니다. 재출간된 『고향』은 '전시자료'로서, 2020년 재인쇄된 버전입니다.

이밖에 허구의 차원에 살고 있는 개가 독자와의 관계를 통해 현실의 차원에 존재하기를 열망하는 이야기를 담고 있는 『눈치』의 영문판과 나무, 풀, 사다리, 에어콘과 같은 자연물과 인공물로 변화할 수 있는 방법을 기술한 지침서 『변신술』이 함께 재출간되었습니다.

Kim Beom's artist book "Hometown" was originally published on occasion of the exhibition 'Seoul in Media: Food, Clothing, Shelter' at Seoul Museum of Art in 1998. In the exhibition back then, an A4-sized flyer and an order form were exhibited only so that an audience who wrote the form and paid for the book was able to see the book received by post. Followed by this, the English version of the book was introduced at «Secret Beyond the Door»(2005, 51th Venice Biennale, Korean Pavilion) and his solo exhibition «Happy Together» at Tina Kim Gallery, in 2015. Reprinted in 2020, this iteration of "Hometown" acts as an exhibition material.

Also, the English version of Kim’s another artist books, “Noonchi” (2009) that tells a story about an imaginary dog which desires to be brought to life by forming a relationship with the reader in reality and “The Art of Transforming” (1996) that exemplifies the ways you can transform yourself into some thing else natural or man-made if you wish, were republished.
