From July 25 until September 10, 2014, Pearl Lam Galleries will be hosting a group exhibition curated by David Ho Yeung Chan, featuring the works of Korea’s Chung Seoyoung, Erica Lai from Singapore, and Hong Kong’s very own Morgan Wong.
As the name of the exhibition may suggest, the works explore time and temporality in art by using a series of art objects to stage temporal arrest, with hopes of provoking audiences to contemplate the link between materiality, time and memory, while negotiating between following their hearts and their minds.
Chung Seoyoung’s works will feature various sculptures, installations, and videos that relate manmade and found objects to the human body. Erica Lai will be displaying her photographic prints that convey the collapse of geographic distance and our fleeting visual memory. Morgan Wong expresses her vision through performance art, and addresses human survival and time specifically as a reaction against conforming to the norm.
