Charles Bronson (b. 1952) refers to Charles Arthur Salvador (born Michael Gordon Peterson), a British criminal and outsider artist known for his violent prison history and his art depicting his experiences.
He adopted the name Charles Bronson in 1974 after the American actor, having previously been known as Michael Peterson and later as Charles Ali Ahmed. Salvador has spent significant time in high-security psychiatric hospitals, has published books and won awards for his art and poetry, and is now known as Charles Salvador, named after the Salvador Dali.
