임시호 개인전 《시호 Shiho》

킴킴 갤러리는 임시호 개인전 《시호 Shiho》를 개최합니다.

전시 장소; 메탈하우스 갤러리(경기도 양평군 서종면 북한강로 755-1, 1 & 2층)

전시 기간: 2025년 6월 28일(토) – 7월 27일(일), 오전 11시 – 오후 6시 (월요일 휴관)

임시호 작가는 2005년 한국예술종합학교 조형예술과를 졸업한 이래 20여 년간 꾸준히 회화 작업을 지속해 왔습니다. 인물, 풍경, 자연, 감정 등 다양한 요소를 중첩하며, 빠른 속도로 그려진 그의 작품들은 여러 재료와 장르를 넘나드는 폭넓은 스펙트럼을 보여줍니다. 

작가는 특유의 직관적인 번짐, 얼룩, 붓 자국, 다양한 색 조합을 통해 작가의 심리적 여정을 표현합니다. 

 

이번 전시의 제목은 작가의 정체성에 대한 성찰의 결과물인 작품들이 보여주는 상호 연결성을 강조하는 

의미에서 <시호 Shiho>로 명명합니다. 

<시호>는 작가를 상징하고 대변하며 변화시키는 작가명으로 ‘진행, 도달, 결과, 클라이맥스’ 등 임시호의 

작업에서 지속적으로 추구하는 한 형태를 의미합니다. 

본 전시에서는 2017년부터 2025년에 제작한 과슈, 파스텔, 아크릴, 유화 작품 100여 점을 선보입니다. 

특히, 2025년 킴킴 갤러리 레지던시에서 제작된 대형 신작도 함께 공개될 예정입니다.

킴킴 갤러리는 이번 전시를 통해 작가의 내면 항해의 여러 영역 중에서 색채의 장, 풍경, 신체, 질감, 

움직임 등 여러 영역을 조명합니다. 

작가가 자신을 정화하는 과정의 일환으로 그리는 <물 한 잔> 연작과 한 존재가 머무는 풍경, 

그리고 순환의 순간을 생명력과 치유로 형상화한 연작을 만나볼 수 있습니다.

 

회화의 다양한 요소들이 자유롭게 서로에게 영향을 미치고, 결합하며, 공유하고, 분리되는 표현은 관객의 

마음과 눈, 정신에 깊은 감동과 경험을 선사하고, 관객을 은유적인 내면의 빛으로 가득 찬 공간으로 이끌 것입니다.

 

Kim Kim Gallery christened the solo show of Im Siho. “Shiho” because her paintings and watercolors more often than not spring from a meditation on name/identity/color… and their interconnectedness. "Shiho" is a moniker, which stands for/represents/changes the person, and terms like "climax," "arrival," "proceed," "reach," and "result in a change of mind"represent a form of succession. We had to choose from several domains of her inner/outer voyages along the horizon of the body, which are color fields, landscapes, the living human body, paint texture, movement … . Luckily there is no tiresome belief system, insufferable contextual explanation, or exhaustive narrative attachment represented/included.

The quality of her work is plunged in a sensitivity for color and how they influence/join/share and separate each other (they are not individual) and correspond to/influence each other and us. 

Her work is mainly concerned with the viewer's further above experience. 

Her paintings have the quality of merging recipient and colored surface rightly beyond verbal comprehension. The color formations may even draw the observer into a space filled with a metaphorical inner light.
