터치-필리: 서울 Touchy-Feely: Seoul

돌봄 노동을 적절하게 수행하기 위해서는 많은 창의력과 상상력이 요구됩니다. 돌봄을 받는 이의 필요와 선호를 이해하기 위해선 세심한 배려와 이해가 필요하기 때문입니다. 돌봄 노동에서 주요한 감각은 촉각입니다. 돌봄 노동을 통한 체화된 경험을 기반으로 《터치-필리: 서울》의 촉감, 만지기 같은 사람 사이의 신체적 접촉을 페미니즘적 큐레이팅과 연결 짓습니다.
《터치-필리: 서울》의 전시 공간은 워크샵, 스크리닝, 토론 등 다양한 형태로 지속적으로 변화할 것입니다.

오프닝 워크샵으로 개인적인 경험과 감정에 연결되는 음식에 대한 이야기를 기록하는 구민자의 <씨드 볼트> 워크샵과 함께, 임연진의 <신성한 원의 치유소>가 진행됩니다. 

Care work requires creativity, imagination, and deep attentiveness to the needs and preferences of the cared-for. Convening artists for whom body work is central to their practice, 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘺-𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘺 relates interpersonal physical contact, touch, and tactility to feminist curatorial methodology.

This two-month exhibition will be continuously transformed through a program of workshops, discussions and other activities.

The opening day features workshops by Minja Gu and Jean Rim.

Opening Workshop #1: Seed Valut, Minja Gu 씨드 볼트, 구민자

〈씨드 볼트〉는 구민자 작가의 어머니와 할머니, 그리고 할머니의 음식에 대한 이야기로 시작했습니다. 참여자는 작가가 만든 따뜻한 식혜를 나눠 먹고, 음식을 둘러싼 각자의 경험과 감정을 모두와 공유하고 이를 흙 점토에 글로 남겼습니다.

음식을 먹는 경험은 한 사람의 몸을 통과하는 생물학적이고 개인적인 경험이면서, 때로는 타인과 연결되는 정서와 일상의 기억을 일깨우는 매개가 되기도 합니다.

《터치-필리: 서울》 전시 기간 중 관람객은 자유롭게 자신의 기억과 감각을 더듬어보며, 이를 점토와 종이에 기록할 수 있습니다. 이는 차츰 모여 모두의 이야기가 담긴 음식-기억-씨앗 저장소가 됩니다.

Minja Gu’s 𝘚𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘝𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘵 began with personal reflections on her mother and grandmother, particularly stories about her grandmother’s food. Participants shared warm sikhye (a traditional Korean sweet rice drink), exchanged personal stories and emotions connected to food, and imprinted those memories into clay.

Eating is both a biological and deeply personal act that passes through one’s body, yet it also often serves as a conduit for shared emotions and everyday memories, entangled with others.

Throughout the exhibition period of 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘺-𝘍𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘺: 𝘚𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘭, visitors are invited to recall and record their own memories and sensations on clay and paper. These collective traces form a growing archive—a seed vault—of food, memory, and stories shared by all.
